MONDAY MOTIVATOR: MEET ALLISON

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

My name is Allison Sirica and I was born and raised in Buffalo. I’m a Geneseo alumni and work as an Account Director for a digital marketing agency called Resolute Digital. I live in Allentown and am fairly obsessed with the city of Buffalo. I love trying new restaurants, attending Buffalo Run Club events and am a proud/highly optimistic Bills season ticket holder.

What does #RevLife mean to you?

To me, #RevLife is getting the opportunity to challenge yourself physically while being surrounded by a motivating community. Before joining Rev, I was never a fan of group workout classes. I would typically run on my own and didn’t often incorporate strength exercises into my workout. After spending the last year taking classes such as RevRun and Run & Strength, I can’t imagine going back. Each class is challenging and all of the instructors push you to get outside your comfort zone and give every workout your all.

We all get in the zone in different ways. Where does your head go during a workout?

I’m usually trying to focus on the workout and push myself to go a few clicks faster – unless it’s a hill interval, then I’m just trying to convince myself that I’ll survive it.

What’s your favorite class at Rev?

RevRun with Kathleen and Tuesday night Run & Strength with Brian. I always leave those classes knowing I got a great workout in.

What’s your favorite meal/snack to eat after a tough workout?

I could not sound more basic with my answer but either avocado toast with crushed red pepper or the sous vide egg bites from Starbucks – they’re addicting.

If you have friends visiting from out of town how do you show the the perfect Buffalo day?

There would be a lot of eating involved. Ideally it would be a nice day and we would do brunch, walk around Allentown/Elmoood/Canalside and make stops along the way at Ballyhoo (mac and cheese a must) and Resurgence, followed by dinner and drinks at Roost. If it’s Bills season then they would definitely need to experience a tailgate and game.

What’s your favorite place to brunch in Buffalo?

So many good places to choose from. Top three would have to be Billy Club, Black Sheep and Casa Azul.

Early bird or night owl?

Definitely a night owl, though being a part of Rev has pushed me to be more of an early bird and start doing workouts before work.

What’s your ideal rest day look like?

If it’s a nice day then definitely being outside and taking advantage of all the great patios. But I also love staying home, ordering in and binging a good netflix series just as much.

What’s your Favorite guilty pleasure song?

Love the Way You Lie by Eminem – it’s also my go to karaoke song.

If you were shipwrecked on a deserted island which 2 luxury items would you want to have?

A really comfortable mattress and my kitchenaid mixer for no reason other than I wouldn’t want to part with it.

If you were to win $100 million today what’s the first you do?

I’d book a trip for my entire family to go visit Italy together and would never hesitate to add on guac when it’s extra.
