Monday Motivator: Meet Mark
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am originally from a small town in northern Minnesota, went to school in St. Paul MN, and I moved to Buffalo in July 2018 to work at the General Mills plant downtown; making the city smell good is literally my job. I have always been a passionate runner, soccer player, indoor and beach volleyball player, and am always down for any sort of pick up game of any sport. Since moving to Buffalo I have met inspiring people who have been by my side through a marathon training cycle, and I have met friends at Rev and the BFLO Run club who are with me on my newest journey to completing an Ironman 70.3 in June.
What does #RevLife mean to you?
RevLife is walking through the doors and feeling welcomed and valued. I feel encouraged to be the best version of myself in every class. RevLife is leaving the craziness of work, life, relationships, etc. at the door and connecting with yourself on the bike, treadmills, TRX stations, or the register treating yourself to a smoothie or new shirt.
We all get in the zone in different ways. Where does your head go during a workout?
When I start a run, spin class, speed & strength class or whatever it may be, I focus on what energy I am bringing to the table and how am I going to use it to fuel me to feel powerful mentally and physically. I focus in on transforming my experiences and energy into a healthy outlet that allows me to jam out to great tunes, sprint like hell at 4% for 90 seconds, tap back on a bike and more.
What’s your favorite class at Rev?
Lauren rhythm classes are prob my can’t miss class of the week. The music, the intensity, the energy; you walk out of every class thinking “What did I just do to my body, I loved it.”I have so much fun looking like a goofball dancing on a bike and it brings me a real sense of happiness surviving/thriving her classes.
What’s your favorite meal/snack to eat after a tough workout?
I’m a big breakfast person, so reloading with pancakes, strawberries and mimosas after a Saturday morning workout is my favorite way to refuel.
If you have friends visiting from out of town how do you show the perfect Buffalo day?
I always start with Gabriel’s Gate for wings, drinks and a game of air hockey at Frizzy’s and usually make our way to 500 pearl for some views. I also love showing off the murals in Buffalo, my favorite one is the arrows on the wall on main that are all rainbow colors & the “Looking Good” mural on Hertel.
What’s your favorite place to brunch in Buffalo?
For mimosa’s – Lafayette Brewing Company (Downtown)
For food – Betty’s (near Allen)
Early bird or night owl?
Night owl sort of – I’m not from here and don’t understand why things stay open until 4! 1am bedtime and 7am wake up calls are my usual. I love sunrises and sunsets equally.
What’s your ideal rest day look like?
A boat day with friends, a cooler full of Truly’s and an oversized floatie shaped like an oversized swan.
What’s your Favorite guilty pleasure song?

If you were shipwrecked on a deserted island which 2 luxury items would you want to have?
A camera that I could only post sunset insta-stories on
A radio that plays Lizzo & Shania Twain all the time

Have you ever heard of a cat being called a good boy or girl? Well I haven’t. Dogs.

Order myself a large pizza, buy a bottle of wine that’s NOT on the discount rack, and binge watch Schitt’s Creek to remind myself to stay humble
