REVSTAFF SPOTLIGHT: LINDSAY

You’re a beloved part of the RevFam but there may be some readers who don’t know you that well. In a few sentences, summarize who you are- outside of the Rev walls! What do you want readers to know about you that they wouldn’t find out through interactions with you at Rev:

I am a mom to an amazing baby girl and just recently got married (my last name, for the first time in my entire life, will be easily pronounceable!)If you see a Lindsay Stuart on the upcoming schedule, it is still your girl! Last October, my beautiful daughter, Jordyn, was
delivered 8 weeks early, turning our lives upside down. It was very challenging to have her spend her first weeks in the NICU; however, I believe our bonds are even stronger from it. I have a deep appreciation for those who may be new to or coming back to exercise. I had to learn to be patient with my own recovery post-baby. I believe every step (or every class) we take makes us stronger than the day before! In addition to teaching/training at Rev, I work full-time as the Coordinator of Professional Development at Horizon Health Services, WNY’s largest non-profit behavioral health agency and am in charge of our clinical training and development programming – I’ve been there for over 10 years! Finding balance can be tough but is so important to keep checking in with. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I’ve been doing it over 11 years. Every time I step through Rev’s doors I feel so excited to be there. I truly love our Rev community and take great joy in every class I teach or am taking. If I haven’t met you yet, I look forward to!

Do you have any fun nicknames you love to be called?

I like “Linds”- my best friend endearingly calls me Zay or Zizzy. Both have a nice ring to them!

What’s your favorite way to spend a morning?

This is going to sound completely cheesy but oh well! I love waking up in the morning and
seeing my kiddo. Typically, the first thing I will do is say good morning to her and she will give
me the biggest grin which makes me feel like the luckiest person on the planet. Even when I’m tired, it always starts my day off right.

We all know you’re already doing your dream job at Rev BUT if you could do anything else, what would it be?

Both at Rev and at my full-time job, I am very blessed to be in a position to support other’s in reaching their goals (physical health goals or professional development goals) so it’s a win-win. The only element that I think would be great to add is if I could somehow incorporate animals…Rev+animal therapy anyone???

What’s one piece of advice you love to give?

This is one of my Grandma’s favorite sayings and one that I live by….”think little of what you
eat and drink but nothing to excess.” In a nutshell, it speaks to building a health lifestyle that’s not all-consuming. Life is meant to be lived!

If your life was a movie, who would you choose to play you?

Oooo! This is a fun question! My initial thought is to have Natalie Portman play me because
she’s smart, talented, and beautiful! I’ve heard that I have a resemblance to Minnie Driver and I would also be completely OK with her, too-I mean, who wouldn’t like someone with a cool
accent to play them?!

What’s you favorite piece of clothing in your closet?

This is easy! My black zip-up hoodie (yes, I have one for every season). I love it for so many reasons. Black is my favorite color to wear because it goes with everything. I love layers becauseI tend to be cold all the time. And it has pockets….which is an absolute necessity!

You teach a variety of classes at Rev….which one is your favorite to teach??

This.is.such.a.tough.question! I’m going to cheat and pick my top three. I love teaching
RevRides! It’s an opportunity to create an amazing group experience-and I absolutely love music! There’s nothing greater to me than when I hear someone say that they loved hearing a song…or that they leave feeling stronger and more energized. I love teaching RevFit classes because it’s a great change-up and allows me to get creative with using different equipment. And, my ultimate are the hybrids (Rev+____) because I can combine my love for both and will typically amp up the intensity because they’re short intervals of each-so much fun!
