Monday Motivator: Meet Chelsea
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am 26 years old and have a two year old son, Nicholas! I’ve worked at BlueCross BlueShield for five years and I am currently a Service Performance Coach in the Quality and Performance Management department. I love being able to help people meet their full potential each day in my job just like the support I receive from the instructors when working on myself at Rev! I was born and raised in Buffalo and love everything about our city. I am always reliable for a good corny joke or pun…Why did Tupac go to the gym? To get a Sixpac!
What does #RevLife mean to you?
Just like the wall says! Mind. Body. Community. I mean it! The first time I walked into Rev, I immediately felt at home. I joke with my friends often that I want to move in. Everyone there is so incredibly kind and welcoming. I have recruited many friends recently and they have shared the same feedback which warms my heart to know they’re getting that same experience. I’ve lost 60 pounds in the last year from eating healthier and moving my body more so I am new(er) to the fitness world. I used to be scared to try to classes or challenge myself but all of that faded when I started coming to Rev. The instructors inspire you to be your best self and encourage you to focus on what you are there to work on, whatever that means to you. I continue to feel at home when I walk into Rev, and I ALWAYS leave feeling better than before both mentally and physically.
We all get in the zone in different ways. Where does your head go during a workout?
I often think about how far I’ve come with my journey. I think about how I am faster and stronger than I’ve ever been. I love when I push myself just a little harder and think “wow, I could have never done that a year ago, a month ago, a week ago, but I’m doing it now!” I think about how amazing it is to be able to have an active life and to be an example for my son as he grows up and we continue to be active together. He already loves racing me.
