Monday Motivator: Meet Joe

Born in Buffalo but Pittsburgh at heart, literally. You would never know it by looking at him, but Joe’s life involves many medical procedures, medications and endless blood work. We feel that his story is so important to share because you truly don’t ever know what someone next to you can be going through. At 6 weeks old, Joe was sent to Pittsburgh for a heart transplant and spent most of his childhood in and out of the hospital. He has also been the recipient of a kidney transplant in more recent years. Joe keeps a positive attitude and maintains an active lifestyle with the help of his girlfriend Stephanie, who is a literal beam of sunshine at Rev. Check out his Q&A below!

Tell us about your self:

If you don’t know by now, I’m a huge Pittsburgh fan. The sports, the city and the life style. And literally, my heart is from there. I’m a huge hockey fan. Love spending time with my family, girlfriend and vacationing in Myrtle Beach.

What does #RevLife mean to you?
RevLife means a lot to me. The owners and trainers are very kind and compassionate. I love how helpful and accommodating they are when you try a new class for the first time. I’m very comfortable here, joining this gym was life changing.
Where does your head go during a workout?
During a workout I’m always thinking about how much harder can I push my self.
What’s your favorite class?
There are many classes at REV that I like but hands-down, Amanda’s Total Body comes in at number one!!! Her smooth transition from spin to weight stations is very effective! Mandy’s Rev Strength comes in at #2! I’m also feeling more confident lately being able to keep up in Jonathan and Lauren’s spin classes.
What’s your favorite meal/snack to eat after a tough workout?
I Love my steak and chicken. Favorite meal would have to be grilled chicken with rice covered in hot sauce.
