Monday Motivator: Meet Kat

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I am a born and raised Williamsville girl, minus the six years I lived in Cincinnati as a kid! I attended Nichols School and graduated college with a degree in Speech Communications. Yes , I am intentionally leaving out the years I graduated because I can’t believe I will be 30 in less than a month!! I currently work at United Healthcare as a Pharmacy Benefits Analyst as well as The Healthy Scratch a few days out of the week. You may recognize me as the girl attaching words of wisdom or extreme sarcasm on your cups! I’m also a 200 RYT(registered yoga teacher) !


What does #RevLife mean to you?

#RevLife means community first and for most. I’ve belonged to a ton of fitness communities, but Rev stands out more than most! From my first moments walking in the studio it just felt different; It felt like home.  There isn’t a moment where I have felt I didn’t belong here! Secondly, #RevLife means working towards wholeness (mind, body, and spirit). No matter what level or where you are at in life, Rev welcomes and celebrates you!! It’s truly a community of people working to better themselves and others not only through fitness but through life! I know for me I’ve found a new passion for life after being in quite a fitness funk after the passing of my dad a few years ago. I’m just so grateful for all you people!

We all get in the zone in different ways. Where does your head go during a workout?

Honestly, my head usually goes from, “I’ve got this” to “F*ck this” to “It’s almost over you can do this”! Somewhere in between all of that I also sing along with whatever song is playing! LOL

What’s your favorite class at Rev?

That’s such a hard one! I love all the classes at REV but my top two , since I just can’t choose one, are RevRhythm and Rev+UpperBody. Shoutout to Lauren/Tommy/Amanda!! I love a challenge and those classes do just that! Just when I think I’m getting comfortable, these instructors throw a curve ball!

What’s your favorite meal/snack to eat after a tough workout?

Shameless plug for The Healthy Scratch, but I really love our “Can’t Be Sure” smoothie! I also love protein pancakes from Balanced Body!

If you have friends visiting from out of town how do you show the the perfect Buffalo day?

I love going into the city! Whether it’s eating at one of the many restaurants we have, paddle boarding, or just walking down Elmwood that’s the place I like to be!

What’s your favorite place to brunch in Buffalo?

Milos! I could eat greek food all day everyday but it’s my absolute favorite for brunch along with a mimosa or two!

Early bird or night owl?

It depends on the day! Usually I’m an early bird,  except during the summer because let’s be honest, Buffalo summers don’t last long. One must use all the warm weather to their advantage!

What’s your ideal rest day look like?

Hanging out with my best friend watching Handmaidens Tale!

What’s your Favorite guilty pleasure song?

Beyonce “Run The World (Girls)”

If you were shipwrecked on a deserted island which 2 luxury items would you want to have?

A cute bikini and rum! I will look fabulous and I’ll have something to add to the coconuts I find.

Cats or Dogs?

Dogs all the way! I have two at home! Well one is mine and my brother’s stays with me during the week, but let’s not get technical.

If you were to win $100 million today what’s the first you do?

I would start a franchise of fitness/art/nutrition studios! My ultimate dream is to have studios all over where people can come for different types of fitness, arts (dance, singing, painting, etc), nutrition, and counseling! I truly believe we must work to align our minds, bodies and souls in this life because each one is deeply connected!
