Monday Motivator: Meet Frank
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m a 39-year-old father of two little girls: Paige (nearly 3) and Clara (10 weeks). Husband to fellow Rev-goer, Leah Ewing. Attorney by training. Buffalo transplant. CEO of a 650-person company and constantly on the go. Left-handed. Super into 90s Brit-pop. Game of Thrones enthusiast.
What does #RevLife mean to you?
A welcoming, judgement-free place to challenge my body.
We all get in the zone in different ways. Where does your head go during a workout?
During a workout, my mind is totally blank. I’m just trying to focus on the movement at hand. Exercise has this great way of slowing things down for me.
What’s your favorite class at Rev?
RevRow+Strength, but have to give a shout out to my personal trainer-in-chief, Mandy.
What’s your favorite meal/snack to eat after a tough workout?
If you have friends visiting from out of town how do you show the the perfect Buffalo day?
Some combination of the following: workout at Rev (of course!); walk around Deleware Park and Hoyt Lake; tour the scenes of Allen, Elmwood, and Hertel; stop over to Resurgence Brewery; and maybe get some dinner at Roost. It’s also important for my guests to leave town knowing the best wings are from Nine-Eleven Tavern in South Buffalo.
What’s your favorite place to brunch in Buffalo?
Trattoria Aroma on Bryant.
Early bird or night owl?
Pre-kids, night owl. Post-kids, early bird.
What’s your ideal rest day look like?
Rest days should be restful. Sleep until 7am, coffee, playground, pool, a family walk, and something indulgent for dinner. Wrap things up with some vapid TV show, like Naked and Afraid or My Lottery Dream Home.
What’s your Favorite guilty pleasure song?
My almost 3-year-old requests that we sing “Shake it Off” by T.Swift every time we drive home from school, and I can’t say that I discourage her from asking.
If you were shipwrecked on a deserted island which 2 luxury items would you want to have?
iPhone and mobile internet hotspot.
Cats or Dogs?
If you were to win $100 million today what’s the first thing you would do?
Pop a bottle of something nice, and probably go to work the next day.
