Monday Motivator: Meet Michael

“Rev IS Life! It’s as simple as that.” This weeks Monday Motviator is brought to you by Michael. Read on to see how Michael gets in the zone and stays motivated both in and out of the studio.


Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I first came to Rev at the end of the summer looking to get back into a regular workout routine.  I am the type of person that needs someone to push me harder and to hold me accountable.  The classes offer just that – and even more!  I work the 9-5 grind and I’m all about having structure and routine.  When I’m not at Rev, I try to live a healthy and active lifestyle.  I’ve trained for several half marathons in the past year-ish; I do the Tough Mudder challenge every summer; I like to bike and kayak during the summer months; and in winter, I’m all about both downhill and cross country skiing.  I am a huge dog lover, and I just adore my Australian Shepard named Scout!  I grew up in Hamburg and played soccer growing up.


What does #RevLife mean to you?

RevLife IS life, its as simple as that!  I come to the studio to get stronger and healthier, but even after I leave class that motivation to do good in all areas of my life carries on.  I feel so much energy and optimism from not just the instructors but my other team mates in class too.  Its so motivating to push myself to new highs, even to new levels that I never thought I could once achieve.

We all get in the zone in different ways. Where does your head go during a workout?

As soon as the first beat drops at the start of class, my mind escapes from whatever life threw at me that day.  I focus on ridding my mind of everything else other than becoming stronger and better.  I strive to have the perfect form for every move, so even if I struggle to get that form down at lower reps, that means a success to me.

What’s your favorite meal/snack to eat after a tough workout?

Anything avocado – or just a few scoops of peanut butter!  But not the two mixed together 🙂
