Monday Motivator: Meet Sarah

She had us at “I can get after dips.” (And’s she’s talking ooey-gooey football tailgate-style dips, not the ones we do for our triceps.) Us too, Sarah, us too. This week’s Monday motivator is nothing short of a ball of positive fire and we want you to catch her awesome vibes too. Read on for more.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. 

In short: WNY native, returned Buffalo ex-pat, Elmwood Village resident, a professional writer in real life, a celebrity chef in my dreams, grad student, Revver since 2014, newlywed.

 

What does #RevLife mean to you?

Intentional positivity and STRENGTH. Every interaction with Rev is positive – from words of encouragement during a heavy hill to the fact that people smile during their workout, and importantly, no critical words or body-shaming language … ever! And let’s face it, “cool spin studios” can be intimidating to people who aren’t into fitness culture (moi), so the positivity makes Rev really uniquely accessible.

 

Regarding strength, Rev is the only place I’ve worked out not with the intention to lose weight, but because it makes me feel strong in both body and mind. That such a feeling can stay with you long after a workout ends tells me there’s something special there, something that’s way more than the workout itself. It’s #RevLife!

 

We all get in the zone in different ways. Where does your head go during a workout?

I like to picture everything in my head becoming a pedal stroke. Also, something magical happens when the instructor shouts out, “What are you here for, Tuesday?!” That really gets me going. The answer is different every time!

 

What’s your favorite class at Rev?

I’ve gotta give props to the old-G: 5:45 a.m. RevRide on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Going strong since the beginning! Can I give an honorable mention to this summer’s F*ck Yeah Friday series? I liked it probably way more than what’s decent.

 

What’s your favorite meal/snack to eat after a tough workout?

Peanut butter. It does the trick, every time.

 

What’s your favorite fall activity in Buffalo?

 All of the peripherals of football season. I ’m not into the actual sport at all, but I can get after some dips.

 

Tacos or pizza? It has to be tacos.

Coffee or smoothie? COFFEE!

Early riser or night owl? Early riser, brought to you by early morning Rev Rides.

Beach or mountains? Yes, please!

Fall or summer? Fall all the way. Because life is better without humidity.
