Monday Motivator: Meet Val
The thing I love about working out is that no matter how bad of a mood I come in or how “blah” I feel when I get to the gym, I always feel 100% better after. During my workout I stop focusing on all the outside noise and it gives me a chance to reflect on pushing myself and focusing on my body and it’s strength in the moment. I try to just stay focused on being present during my workout.” – Valerie, Rev Monday Motivator
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I live in North Buffalo and love being a part of this city. Seeing Buffalo grow and evolve over the last 5 years has been inspiring. I am a CPA and work in public accounting but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to have fun! When I’m not crunching numbers I play on a championship kickball team and am a huge Buffalo Bills fan! I love supporting local charities and businesses, they always have the best events. I’m also a huge supporter of the Ride for Roswell, it’s an event that the whole community can participate in. I stay pretty busy but I’m always up for trying something new.
What does #RevLife mean to you?
To me it means pushing yourself to do things you didn’t think you could do before and conquering them! Before Rev I had never used a TRX strap or a rowing machine and now I love both of those workouts and I get better each time I try. I used to just run at the gym because I didn’t know what to do but I love the variety I get at Rev and that I can push myself with new moves all the time.
We all get in the zone in different ways. Where does your head go during a workout?

What’s your favorite class at Rev?
RevShred, RevFit Cardio and RevRow. RevRow was the first class I took at the studio and I felt like I could do anything after making it through that workout.
What’s your favorite meal/snack to eat after a tough workout?
Recently, I’ve been very into making homefries, eggs and veggies but if I worked really hard, then I’ll usually add some sort of dessert (treat yo’self)!
What’s your favorite fall activity in Buffalo?
Going to Becker Farms (with my BFF and workout partner, Mackenzie, who got me to come to Rev!) and enjoying their hand crafted ciders, homemade doughnuts (the best doughnut I have all year), picking apples and making lots of apple muffins after that.
Tacos or pizza? Tacos!
Coffee or smoothie? I just starting drinking coffee in the last two months so this answer will surprise most of my friends and family but coffee!
Early riser or night owl? Early riser, I love getting stuff done in the morning (especially my workouts!)
Beach or mountains? Beach – my favorite vacation is a beach vacation, I could read a sit on a beach all day!
Fall or summer? Fall!
