Monday Motivator: Meet Nicole
“Walking into Rev you can just FEEL everything that it is. It means showing up every day to a room of motivated individuals always ready to give 110%. If you are having one of “those days” where you are just not feeling it, that vibe will last an entire 20 seconds after walking through the door.” – Nicole
We’re super bummed this week’s Monday Motivator, Nicole is moving away from Buffalo in a few weeks, but we’re also so grateful we’ve had a chance to get to know (and sweat with) such a wonderful soul. Check out her story below.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
After spending most of my life in Binghamton I moved up to Buffalo to start pharmacy school in 2015. Needless to say, it has been a stressful 3 years! My daily hour of exercise has been what has kept me (mostly) sane. Running was always my exercise of choice and I ran in a handful of half marathons quite competitively. After running the Buffalo Half Marathon this May I felt I was at a total plateau with exercise. So after researching local spin studios I found Rev and decided to give it a shot. Well … one class led to daily classes … which led to daily doubles … so one could say I am addicted! I also must mention that I am a proud cat mom to the cutest little black and white kitty named Sinatra.
What does #RevLife mean to you?
Walking into Rev you can just FEEL everything that it is. It means showing up every day to a room of motivated individuals always ready to give 110%. If you are having one of “those days” where you are just not feeling it, that vibe will last an entire 20 seconds after walking through the door.
We all get in the zone in different ways. Where does your head go during a workout?
So in the past when I have went to classes I am usually clock watching and stressing over that days agenda (or processing the previous days therapeutics lecture). What I love most about Rev is once that music is going I really stop thinking about everything. Try stressing over something while Lauren C. is pumping a Skrillex remix to HUMBLE. (Not possible, I promise).
What’s your favorite class at Rev?
This is such a loaded question… it truly depends on the week but I love the variety of any class that includes some spin and some interval work on the other side. Fresh on my mind this week is RevRow+ Strength with Lauren C. and Rev Mvmt with Emily R. There was a point in both classes where I kind of questioned if I would survive 5 minutes in (150 wall balls?! Emily are you nuts?!).
What’s your favorite meal/snack to eat after a tough workout?
Current snack is plain Fage yogurt with fresh blueberries and almond butter! After I go to an evening Rev class my go-to meal is usually zucchini noodles topped with just about anything I can find in my fridge.
What’s your favorite dinner spot in Buffalo?
I have failed to explore many of the good spots in Buffalo but I am in love with Ashkers. If I am in a Greek mood I also love Kostas.
If you could choose your superpower, what would it be?
I would LOVE to have a photographic memory. I know thats nerdy but I think that would be so cool!!
Who would play you in the movie version of your life?
Jennifer Lawrence. We have about zero things in common but she is my ultimate girl crush.
