Monday Motivators: Meet Charlotte
This busy little bee is sure to help kick your week off on a high note. Meet Charlotte, this week’s Monday Motivator. She’s a pediatric nurse who also finds time to coach three swim teams (!) and work out at Rev almost daily. She’s addicted to our early bird half and half classes, and our newest format, RevMvmt with Emily. Check our Charlotte’s story below.
1. What’s your story?
I am 23 years old born and raised in Buffalo! I currently live in the Elmwood village which makes getting to Rev super easy when I hit snooze too many times! I graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a degree in nursing. I am a pediatric nurse at Children’s Hospital and absolutely love my job! Every day (or rather every night as I work 7pm-7am) is a new and crazy adventure. In college, I was a Division II swimmer and I haven’t been able to get myself off the pool deck yet. On top of my wacky nursing schedule I somehow find time to coach. I am currently a coach for the Amherst Girl’s Varsity swim team, the Amherst Boy’s Varsity swim team and the Amherst TigerSharks USA swim club. When I’m not sleeping all day, working all night or standing on a pool deck I try to keep life fun and stress free. I love camping in the summer, snowboarding in the winter, and consuming margaritas all year round! Traveling and reading are two of my favorite hobbies, aside from trying to convince my boyfriend we need a puppy… it’s totally going to happen people!
2. What does the #RevLife mean to you?
#RevLife is the best life! Working crazy hours and never knowing what day it is can throw your entire life off balance and for over a year I struggled to make sense of how I was going to make it all work and feel good about myself at the end of the day. When Mackenzie brought me to Rev it was like I found my next team and a new home! #RevLife is teamwork, self love and balance (physical or mental… whatever you need that day!).
3. Where does your mind go during a workout?
Some days at Rev my mind is on everything I’m trying to accomplish in class and all the goals I’ve set for myself. Then there are days where I am daydreaming of my next trip around the world or how cute that puppy is going to be! When I am spinning I almost always close my eyes and pretend I am swimming which I swear is making me much better at spinning! And if we are being honest there are always the days where I have to laugh at myself because the struggle is real and my mind is strictly on survival!
4. What’s your favorite Rev class format?
My favorite classes at Rev we’re 100% the half ride half lifting classes on Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 545am. I love getting the best of both worlds! However, I do have to admit that RevMvmt on Tuesdays with Emily is a whole new level of butt kicking and I can’t get enough of it!
5. Go-to post workout fuel?
On a weekday I love going home and making a peanut butter banana smoothie. My weekend post Rev reward is always a “Mike’s Breakfast Sandwich” from Spot coffee!
6. Favorite place to go out to eat in Buffalo?
It’s impossible to pick a favorite dinner place in Buffalo! My favorite fancy dinner option is always Remington Tavern. Cantina Loco and Aguacates are tied for number one in my heart when it comes to Mexican. Lake Effect is by far my favorite ice cream place and trust me I’ve tried them all!
7. If you could have a super power, what would it be?
My superpower would definitely be teleportation! I would love to be wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted and not have to deal with the in between. Plus, then I would never be late to class at 545 right?!
8. Who would play you in a movie?
Reese Witherspoon would have to play me in a movie about my life. I have no idea why but that’s what my movie guru boyfriend said so we’re going to go with it!
