Monday Motivator: Meet Stephanie

Get Revved up for the post holiday-week with today’s Monday Motivator – Stephanie. She’s a badass on both the bikes and rowers – crushing hills and meters whenever she’s at Rev. Get to know her story below!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I was born and raised in Buffalo, but got my accounting degree at SUNY Geneseo. I’m a CPA and have been working at a local accounting firm for about 9 years. When I’m not working or at Rev, you can usually find me cheering on any Buffalo sports team, playing softball, trying out the newest brewery in town (bonus points if they have trivia!), quoting How I Met Your Mother or spending time with family and friends. I’m also a proud dog mama to Marley, my 5 year old Corgi mix, who I adopted last fall.

How do you stay motivated to come to class, especially on days when you’re just not feeling it?

Some days are definitely easier than others! But at the end of the day, these classes are my time for myself. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of every day life, that it’s nice to be able to take the time and leave all that gunk behind on the rower or bike. Plus every class is different, so it keeps me coming back for more.

What are some little ways you stay active every day?

I really just try to get up and move! It’s handy that the better coffee maker is a longer walk at the office. I’m really late in the game to the whole fitness tracker game, but it’s been also been a huge help! And Marley needs her walks too 🙂

What song gets you totally pumped during class?

I love any old school rock, Mumford and Sons or anything I can attempt to sing along to. You also can’t go wrong with any of the Boy Band Battles!

Who are your Rev ride-or-dies? (Workout buddies who keep you accountable.)

It’s usually a fear of disappointing myself that keeps me accountable, but I also love encouraging friends or coworkers to check out a class! It’s always great to see a friendly face and have a buddy in class to help push you.

What’s something random you always have in your gym bag?

My gym bag doubles as one of my travel bags when I travel for work, so you can always find floss in there.

Give us two truths and a lie

– I’m a trained barista.

– My dad and I share a middle name.

– I learned how to crochet in college.
