Monday Motivators: Meet Stephanie

One of the first times we met this week’s Monday Motivator, Stephanie, was at 5:30am. She said she had a 15+ hour day ahead of her, so this workout was a now or never sort of situation. We were exhausted just thinking about it, but Stephanie showed up with major enthusiasm (as she always does!) and hasn’t looked back. Get to know this rad chick in the Q&A below. We’re obsessed with her positive spirit (and doesn’t she look freakin’ amazing in the new Glyder One Crop Top that we now carry at Rev!?!?)

 

​1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I was born and raised right here in Buffalo. Since attending Syracuse University (Go CUSE!) I have worked for M&T Bank for 4 years and I am currently pursuing my MBA at UB. I have only been spinning about 3 months and I can say that I was absolutely hooked after my first class. It’s been amazing to see how my body and mind have positively resulted from the experience and I don’t plan to stop anytime soon!

 

​2. ​How do you stay motivated to come to class, especially on days when you’re just not feeling it?

I like to remind myself why I’m working out in the first place. Not only has my body changed for the better but I’m happier and less stressed out overall. Juggling working full time and grad school has not been easy so when I’m having a hard time I think about how much better things will be after I let off a little steam and get pumped at Rev day or night. Focused on working my way up to more than one class in a day. Bring on the tap backs!!

 

​3. ​What are some little ways you stay active every day?

Since getting more into fitness I’m obsessed with getting steps in. I park about a half mile away from work and try to take the short walk rather than use the train. Throughout the day I also try to get steps in as often as possible so that I’m on the move a bit more. The occasional spontaneous dance party helps too, haha.

 

​4. ​What song gets you totally pumped during class?

Right now I am really into Thunder by Imagine Dragons! I’ve also noticed a ton of awesome Macklemore mixes on the Rev playlists.

 

​5.​ Who are your Rev ride-or-dies? (Workout buddies who keep you accountable.)

My best Rev buddy definitely has to be Cassie Apgar! Not only is she the one person that introduced me to Rev but she is also super supportive. Always eager to take a class together or letting me know that I can do anything when I’m feeling a little uncertain. My fitness journey would not be what it is without the support of her and everyone else around me. A huge motivator is my amazing mom, Rhonda, who is completely slaying her own personal fitness journey.

 

​6. ​What’s something random you always have in your gym bag?

I don’t typically have anything out of the ordinary but I simply cannot function during a workout without a very specific headband I wear. So if it’s not on my head it’s in my bag lol.

 

​7. Give us two truths and a lie.

-I’m a devoted video gamer.

-I’m an awesome juggler.

-I have met Joe Biden multiple times. (We’re basically BBF’s at this point.)
