Emily's Taco Potatoes

Emily loves a good starch after an intense workout session. Her pick? Potatoes - a good source of Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C which help with SO many body functions. Throw this three-ingredient side dish together and chow down with some grilled chicken and broccoli for a complete meal.



*Fingerling Potatoes
*Packet of Taco Seasoning
*Olive Oil

Boil potatoes for approx 20 minutes (depends on how many potatoes you use)
Drain all the water
Using a fork or spoon, "crush" each potato- essentially flattening/splitting open the potato on a cookie sheet
Drizzle potatoes with olive oil and top with the packet of taco seasoning (optional: add another drizzle of olive oil on top to make it crispy)
Stick in a pre-heated oven (400 degrees) for 20 minutes (or until desired crispiness)
Let cool and enjoy!

Optional: hot sauce aioli dressing. SUPER EASY
Mix together veganaise mayo and hot sauce. Pour over hot potatoes before serving. SO GOOD.


Monday Motivator: Meet Drew

Crushin' it on the runway (we couldn't help ourselves here!) and at Rev, this week's Monday Motivator Drew is just plain awesome. He's back in Buffalo after a 10-year stint in Baltimore, rockin' two-a-days at Rev, helping us model the new men's gear line and livin' the ultimate Buffalo summer. Get to know him in the Q&A below!

1. Give us a quick background on yourself.

Originally from the WNY area, lived down in Baltimore for about 10 years after college, and made my way back up to Buffalo about 3.5 years ago. I am currently on hiatus, but work in Finance and enjoying the summer by doing some traveling, golfing, and two a days at Revolution.

2. Describe your best workout ever in just three words.

​4. Any healthy habits to start/end your day?
Start - Protein shakes after a morning workout or run.
End - Drink a bunch of water before I go to bed, Sunday - Thursday. (Weekends are up for grabs.)

5. Any indulgences you just can't live without?
Tortilla chips, peanut butter, Pectin jelly beans @Wegmans.

6. Favorite workout on the bike - hills, sprints, isolations or tap backs?​
Crazy Lauren Corigliano rides or Rachel McCrone isolations. (They both have screws loose.)

7. Buffalo food truck you can't live without?
Can't go wrong with Lloyds Taco Truck, but I've recently had Lomo Lomo and O.G. Woodfire which are both solid.

Lauren's Mocha Coffee Protein Shake


*1 scoop @uniconutrition chocolate lava protein shake
*6-8 Ice cubes
*1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
*1/2 cup cold coffee

Blend all ingredients together in a blender and blend until consistency is to your liking. Drink up.

Monday Motivator: Meet Britney

Today's Monday Motivator was admittedly not sold on group fitness classes until her good friend (and previous MM herself) Lauren convinced her to try out a class at Rev. That was only January, but since then, we've seen Britney pretty much every day and we ain't mad about it! She has a great attitude in and outside of the studio. Check her out on Instagram and you'll immediately be inspired to explore everything Buffalo has to offer: from museums, to the newest ice cream shops, to the trendiest cocktail bars and most importantly, any chance to volunteer and share those positive vibes out to the rest of the world..she doesn't miss a thing. 

1. Give us a quick background on yourself.

Born and raised in Buffalo (and proud of it)! I’m currently living downtown, but grew up in Angola as a beach bum. Around the same time that I made the career jump from advertising to tech start-up, I decided I wanted to change up my fitness routine as well. 

I’ve always been more of a runner and one for solo workouts, so I wasn’t sure group classes or spinning were for me. I’ll admit, I had to be coerced into trying Rev… but it was really a one and done experience! Now I’m hooked. :)  

2. Describe your best workout ever in just three words.

“What was that?!”

4. Any healthy habits to start/end your day?

Full disclosure: I am not a morning person, at all. So the 5:45 Rev classes really help me wake up and get going! After that, I usually need a big glass of water and large cup of coffee. 

5. Any indulgences you just can't live without?

Pizza, pizza, and pizza. 

6. Favorite workout on the bike - hills, sprints, isolations or tap backs? 


7. Buffalo food truck you can't live without?

 I’ll say Amy’s Truck when I’m looking to go meatless (Veggie Wet Shoes, FTW!) and Lloyd when I’m not. 


Mandy's Pineapple Coconut Smoothie

This hydrating post-class smoothie is a favorite of Mandy's - especially after a challenging row or TRX workout. It's made in minutes with a blender and four ingredients, boasting anti-inflammatory properties too!

Monday Motivators: Meet Mackenzie

A morning maven, this week's Monday Motivator, Mackenzie, knows that if she doesn't get her sweat on early it's not going to happen. That's why she books her rides and combo classes before the sun comes up. Sweatin' for her 2018 wedding and balancing a busy career at Roswell Park, she's got the drive to get it alllll done! Check out her story below.


1. Give us a quick background on yourself.
I was born and raised in Buffalo, and love everything about the city! My fiance, Mike, and I live in North Buffalo and are looking forward to getting married in April of 2018. I currently work at Roswell Park with the Bald for Bucks program. It is so rewarding to see kids across Western New York sacrificing their hair for such a great cause. 

2. Describe your best workout ever in just three words.
Sweaty. Intense. Confidence. 
I had been searching for the right place to workout and am so so happy that I found Rev! 
3. What song(s) are you obsessed with right now?
Despacito has been stuck in my head for the last month and Body Like a Back Road by Sam Hunt.

​4. Any healthy habits to start/end your day?
I love starting everyday with a workout, if I don't go in the morning - it's not gonna happen.  

5. Any indulgences you just can't live without?
Any chocolate - specifically M&M's.

6. Favorite workout on the bike - hills, sprints, isolations or tap backs?​
I love a good sprint, especially when it's to a BSB song! 

7. Buffalo food truck you can't live without?
OG Wood Fire - I LOVE the Margherita pizza.


Lex's Zucchini Nachos

Umm, nachos? On the grill? Made with zucchini instead of tortilla chips? Yes, please! Loaded with all your favorite toppers - use the ones Lex has suggested below or swap in your own - its about to become your new summer go-to dish!

1 tomato 
1/2 yellow pepper
1/2 avacado
1 banana pepper
1 cup lentils
2 zucchini
1/4 cup salsa
1/4 cup shredded cheese
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt mixed with 2 tablespoons shirachi sauce

*dice tomato, yellow pepper, avocado, banana pepper
*add lentils
*slice zucchini  into 1/4inch thick rounds.
*Spread in a single layer onto a sheet of greased Tinfoil-(spritz with a little olive oil)
*Grill 5 minutes on each side
*Top with the diced toppings 
*add some salsa
*sprinkle 1/4 cup shredded cheese 
*heat till melted
Drizzle yogurt/sirachi sauce over top
