Start your week on the right note, with a little extra Monday Motivation from Barb! This Rev rockstar stays strong for her demanding PT career at Mercy Hospital. When she's not working she is TRXing her butt off, or tappin' it back on the bikes. She recently added Indo-Row to her routine, too. Is there anything this girl can't do?!
1. Give us a quick background on yourself.
I grew up in Franklinville (undercover hillbilly). I moved to this area for school and earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008 and currently work in critical care at Mercy Hospital. Lots of strenuous lifting, thank God for my TRX workouts! I have 2 little (more like beasty and chunky because I spoil the heck out of them) French Bulldog boys...they're my world. I live in the Elmwood Village and I'm obsessed with this amazing little community and take full advantage of all it has to offer... farmers markets, unique shops, and tasty restaurants. Can't wait 'til warmer weather, this area just comes alive!
2. Describe your best workout ever in just three words.
Sweaty. Intimidating. Variety.
3. What song(s) are you obsessed with right now?
Hmmm...can't say I have any favorites. You'll find me listening to everything under the sun. Loving Ed Sheeran right now, otherwise I'm not too hip to current artists (damn, I've lost touched since I turned 30). But I can easily switch from him to the Grateful Dead or Tom Petty (hippie at heart) ... thank God for Sirius Radio!
4. Any healthy habits to start/end your day?
I start my day with coffee (duh), but super crazy about fruit/herb infused water ... I've found the more I pack my water bottles with awesome flavors, the more I drink throughout the day. Lately I've been ending my day with a cup or 2 of tea...I love the local, loose tea by Serenitea (buying local is always best, Buffalove!). Before bed, I walk my pups and throw together some delicious overnight oats for breakfast the next day.
5. Favorite workout on the bike - hills, sprints, isolations or tap backs?
Isolations. But it's a love/hate relationship. Thanks a bunch, Lauren.
6. Buffalo food truck you can't live without?
Well, since I can't choose just one, I look forward to summers in Larkinville so I don't have to ... all the food trucks in one spot so I can sample everything. And if you accompany me there, don't be surprised if I scrap off your plate. Love all the food!
