Monday Motivator: Meet Rachael

She's the definition of commitment - AM/PM, weekday/weeknight, TRX/Spin/Row and private training. She literally does it all - with tons of enthusiasm and a seriously infectious laugh. 1. Give us a quick background on yourself.

I grew up in Buffalo, moved away for a while and then came back ... I'm so glad I did, I love this city! I work for a great local HR Consulting firm. I love volunteering for some favorite local nonprofits, going to concerts and music festivals, traveling, spending time outdoors in the spring/summer/fall, and hanging with family, friends, and my awesome dog Miles. I've always been active but my overall fitness had taken a nosedive over the past several years and I wasn't sticking with any kind of regular exercise. Wanting to reverse that, i tried a class at Rev and I quickly got hooked - the instructors, variety of classes and the overall vibe here are amazing. I can honestly say I look forward to Rev classes and I never thought I'd say that about going to a gym!

2. Describe your best workout ever in just three words.
New personal best.

3. What song(s) are you obsessed with right now?
I love all kinds of different music but a few that have been in heavy rotation lately are Roll Up by Fitz & the Tantrums, Morocco by Moon Taxi, and Something To Believe In by Young the Giant

4. ​What helps you ​stay motivated to workout?
I feel so good when I get done with a class, so when I'm feeling like I want to stay in bed in the morning I just think about how great I'll feel afterwards and it gets me up and going.

5. Any healthy habits to start/end your day?
I start most days with a big glass of water and a Rev class - best way to start the day! At night I try to drink chamomile tea, helps me get great sleep so I'm ready to go for those early morning classes.

6. Favorite move on the TRX?
Handstands! I also love atomic push ups, both moves make me feel really strong.

7. Buffalo food truck you can't live without?
Amy's Truck.

8. Favorite Buffalo winter activity?
Hibernation! Just kidding ... I like going down to Ellicottville in the winter, I also like ice skating, and this winter I want to try those ice bikes at canal side!
